We want to support you with your professional development, to further improve the quality of tuition and to help you with career progression. Our free learning and development events are organised at regular times throughout the year, and we encourage all tutors to attend these to continuously develop their skills and knowledge.
Development sessions
Development sessions are led by our experienced team of Quality Managers and trainers, sometimes in partnership with other organisations (e.g., Place2Be, TeachFirst, The University of Manchester). They are designed to develop your skills and give you new strategies to use in your tuition sessions. Whether it's a recap of tutoring essentials such as fostering positive relationships, a deep dive into a specialised topic such as Special Educational Needs (SEND), or using AI in tuition, we've got you covered.
You can sign up for any of these free events on the Thinqi events page.
Transfer Training
Initially, all tutors are trained to specialise in one subject. However, we recognise that many of our tutors have the knowledge and passion to deliver multiple subjects. As a result, we provide opportunities throughout the year for tutors with the necessary qualifications to complete Transfer Training. If you are interested in transfer training, please contact our Training Team at training@thetutortrust.org
Peer mentoring
The Peer Mentoring Programme is a wonderful opportunity to meet and work with an experienced tutor, who will support you. The aim is to build on the skills you have learnt in training and to make you feel more confident as a tutor. You choose the areas to focus on and your mentor supports you by providing feedback on your planning, sharing useful resources, planning together and giving you useful hints and tips from their own experience. If you are interested in the peer mentoring programme, please contact our Training Team at training@thetutortrust.org

As well as tutoring, we provide additional opportunities to join our Outreach Team. This team is a collective of tutors who help our charity with outreach, insights, and engagement with our multiple partner universities.
Our Recruitment Team manages the Outreach Team initiative; for any questions or if you would like additional information, please email them at recruitment@thetutortrust.org.
