We’re a proudly Northern charity that provides tutoring in schools on a not-for-profit basis. Our mission is to transform lives through tutoring – we offer subsidised, high-quality tutoring to young people who might otherwise not have access to a tutor. We believe in equity in education, regardless of postcode or background, so every young person can unlock their full potential.
We partner with primary and secondary schools, colleges and other educational providers to deliver high-quality, high-impact tutoring in English, maths and science to young people across Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and Merseyside. In addition, we also work with young people in Alternative Provision (AP) settings and with cared for children.
Why tutor with us

- You’ll plan and deliver tuition for groups of up to four pupils.
- You’ll form impactful relationships with pupils over the course of a tuition assignment (usually 15 weeks).
- You will work on a self-employed basis.
- Tutoring usually takes place during the school day on the school premises.

What we’re looking for
- A minimum of three hours of availability per week, though your actual hours may vary based on school demand.
- For Secondary tutors, a grade of A/7 in the relevant GCSE subject (or equivalent). Extenuating circumstances will be considered.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check, provided and paid for by The Tutor Trust.
