Tutor Hub

Registers and getting paid

Getting paid

For tutoring, you will earn a minimum of £20 to plan and deliver a one-hour tuition session. This includes planning, preparation, and record-keeping, as well as the time working directly with pupils. If a tuition session is longer or shorter than one hour, the rate of pay will be adjusted accordingly. You will always be informed about the rate of pay before you begin an assignment.

Payment will be made monthly in arrears, on or before the fifteenth of the month. It will be based on days worked in the previous calendar month. For example, on 15 November 2025, you will be paid for all the tuition that you delivered in October 2025.

Registers

You will only be paid for sessions where you have completed the registers on the Tutor:HUB. All registers should be completed within 48 hours of a tuition session taking place to ensure that feedback can be provided to the school/college as soon as possible after the sessions. Please be aware that for payment purposes, if registers are not completed within a week after the end of the month the session took place, you are unlikely to be paid for that session until the following month due to the time it takes to process all the bank payments. For example, if you complete a register on 8 November for a session which took place in October, you may not be paid until December.

Record keeping

The Programme Coordinators will confirm the hours with the school(s)/college(s) where you have been working on a weekly basis. However, please also keep a record of the hours you work to ensure that you are paid the correct amount. If there are any discrepancies, please contact the relevant Programme Coordinator, who will check your registers and do their best to resolve any queries in a timely manner.

Bank details

Payment will be made directly to your nominated bank account. You need to input your bank details on the Tutor:HUB before your first payment is due. If you do not provide us with your bank details at least a week before you are first due to be paid, you may not be paid until the following month. If you change your bank details, you must update them on the Tutor:HUB immediately. Please also email us at the Tutor Trust office to let us know you've made a change, but there is no need for you to send your bank details to us by email.

Remember

Payment is dependent on you completing the Registers on the Tutor:HUB AND keeping your details up to date on the Tutor:HUB

Cancelled tuition

Tutor Trust will pay you in full for all sessions that are cancelled by the school/college less than 24 hours before the start time. This policy will only apply to face-to-face sessions.

You must advise us as soon as possible if there are any changes to hours, days, or the number of young people within the tuition you are delivering. You should contact your Programme Coordinator directly, either by phone or email with the details. Failure to notify Tutor Trust may result in a reduction to your monthly payment.

Incorrect pay

If you believe that you have been incorrectly paid, please provide your Programme Coordinator at the Tutor Trust office with the following information:

  • Actual pay (how much you were paid)
  • Expected pay (how much you think you should have been paid)
  • Schools/colleges you worked at
  • The hours you carried out at every school/college (and the date)
  • The rate and pay of those hours.

Programme Coordinators will then be able to check this information with their records. Please remember we pay tutors in arrears; you are paid on or before the fifteenth of each month for the hours you completed the previous month.
