Lateness

Lateness procedure

Punctuality and reliability are an important part of your role as a tutor; we don’t want your pupils kept waiting, as it reduces their learning time and it is important to build a relationship with pupils based on trust and respect. You should always aim to arrive at schools/colleges at least 15 minutes before your tuition session is due to start. If you are delivering an online tutoring session, it is important that you log in with enough time to prepare your resources and begin the session on time.

If due to unforeseen circumstances, you have been delayed, you MUST contact the school/college directly by phone to inform them about this and how long it is likely to be before you arrive. The relevant Tutor Trust programme coordinator MUST also be informed of any lateness after the session.

If your lateness is caused by a technology issue, please inform the school/college via phone, and call the relevant coordinator via their mobile.

If sessions run over the arranged time to make up for tutor lateness, please inform the relevant coordinator at Tutor Trust.

Remember

Failure to follow the above procedures may result in your pay being withheld until the session times have been verified or being removed from the tutoring assignment(s). Our pupils deserve the very best and they rely on tutors to be committed and punctual. We will support you if we can, but you may not be offered any further work by Tutor Trust in the future if you can’t commit or be punctual.
